Podcast – Sharpen Your Self-Awareness

Self-awareness is fundamental to effective leadership, and to our ability to learn from our experiences.

It is a meta-skill that we can’t afford to overlook, as it is the root of many other skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, influence, communication, collaboration…

Yet, few of us have an accurate perception of who we are and of our impact on others. In fact, self-awareness is a rare quality…

Research shows that only 12-15% of people are actually self-aware!

Eurich, T., “Insight” (2018)

And the worst part is that people with low self-awareness are the most likely to claim the opposite!

What are we missing?

In this popular episode of La Talenterie’s podcast, I share some of Tasha Eurich’s work, demystifying self-awareness, and sharing some tips on how to cultivate it.

NOTE – Self-awareness is a substantive topic that can be explored from many different angles. We hear a lot about conscious leadership, finding one’s “why”, mindfulness, emotional self-awareness… Although all these elements are interrelated, I have chosen here to draw inspiration from the work of Tasha Eurich, a researcher at Harvard University who specializes in the field. I find it enlightening, holistic and practical. I hope it will provide you with a foundation that you can build upon.
